The David G A Jackson Prize

Dear friend,
It is proposed to award a prize annually in memory of the late Dr David Gaston Auguste Jackson, who studied and taught in the School of Mathematics and Statistics from 1989 to 1998. The prize is to be established and funded by David's friends and colleagues in recognition of their universal esteem for his character and their regard for his intellectual talents. David's family have given their approval for this project.

The prize will consist of a certificate and a cash award in accordance with the procedures of the Scholarships Office of the University of Sydney. In remembrance of David's particular mathematical talents, the prize will be awarded for creativity and originality in Pure Mathematics. The recipient will be an undergraduate or undergraduates studying a junior, intermediate or senior course in Mathematics. The selection of the recipient will be made by the Head of the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney, in consultation with other members of the School.
