In the case of Australian students, if the results of your first degree will
not be known by the closing
date, this should not deter you from submitting an application,
provided results are forwarded as soon as they become known.
Applications for candidature may be obtained from the University's
Faculty of Science Office for local students and from the International Education
Office (IEO) for overseas students. See Section 7 for contact
addresses, telephone numbers and fax numbers.
Students seeking to apply for funding in the form of postgraduate research awards, should also note the closing application dates for awards offered in the following year:

Potential postgraduate research students are advised
to ask two referees to separately complete the
detachable form contained in the centre
of this handbook. Please make a copy for the second referee.
The completed forms should be sent by the referees directly to
the School's Director of Postgraduate Studies.
Research degree applicants are also advised to contact the School's Research
Group representative who is most closely related to their research
interests (see Section 5).
