Algebra Seminar: Barnes -- Faithful representations of Leibniz algebras

There will be an Algebra Seminar on Friday 4 November, given by Donald Barnes.

Speaker: Donald Barnes (University of Sydney)

Date: Friday 4 November

Time: 12:05-12:55pm

Venue: Carslaw 175

Title:

Faithful representations of Leibniz algebras

Abstract:

The Ado-Iwasawa Theorem asserts that for a finite-dimensional Lie algebra, there exists
a faithful finite-dimensional module. I shall prove that for a finite-dimensional
Leibniz algebra of dimension n, there exists a faithful module of dimension less than or
equal to n+1.
