Matsumae International Foundation Fellowships The Matsumae International Foundation invites applications for its fellowships. Fellowships are tenable for three to six months, with priority given to proposed studies in the fields of natural science, engineering and medicine. Fellowships are intended to cover necessary living expenses and research activities in Japan. A monthly stipend of JPY200,000 is available, plus travel and health insurance costs, a round-trip air ticket, and a lump sum of JPY100,000 to be paid on arrival. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree or equivalent qualifications, be under 49 years of age and have conversational ability in English or Japanese.
