Algebra Seminar

Mirror symmetry SYZ and special Lagrangians

David Baraglia

Friday September 10, 12:05--12:55pm, Carslaw 175

Abstract

I will give an introductory talk on Mirror symmetry from the point of view of the Strominger Yau Zaslow conjecture. The conjecture claims that mirror Calabi-Yau manifolds are special Lagrangian fibrations over the same base but with fibres related through T-duality.

The talk will cover basic material about Calabi-Yau manifolds, special Lagrangian submanifolds and their deformation theory.

After the seminar we will take the speaker to lunch.

See the Algebra Seminar web page for information about other seminars in the series.
