CREATIVE SPARKS:BLUE CARBON art-science school project.  

Thursday November 20 2014 

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM 

Culture at Work 6-8 Scott Street Pyrmont NSW 2009 

$25 an evening of Wine & Cheese & Art.  

Public talks by artists Fiona Davies, Liz Shreeve and mathematician Leon Poladian and a
silent art auction of artists from Culture at Work.  2014 artist-in-residence Liz
Shreeve and mathematician Leon Poladian will talk about ’shaping colour’.  

Creative Sparks: Blue Carbon is an art-science project for primary schools.  Artists and
scientists will visit schools in City of Sydney, Penrith and Mudgee.  Primary students
make artworks based on Blue Carbon and exhibit them to the public in an exhibition at
the Pyrmont Festival in Pirriama Park.  

Your $25 ticket includes wine and cheese and a public talk and visual art exhibition.
At 7pm Fiona Davies will give a talk about her Blood on Silk project.  Fiona Davies was
one of the first artists-in-residence at Culture at Work.  She will give an update about
her project and her recent visit to TUFTS in Boston.  2014 artist-in-residence Liz
Shreeve and mathematician Leon Poladian will talk about ’shaping colour’.  

Artists from the Culture at Work Art-Science Residency program have donated artworks for
a silent auction exhibition in our Accelerator Gallery.  All proceeds go to the Creative
Sparks: Blue Carbon 2015 primary schools project.  Artists include Julie Brooke, Liz
Shreeve, Alan Spackman and Sherryl Ryan.
