Evacuation Procedure

WARNING, Insult alert!

This scnews item contains information that may insult your basic common sense and
intelligence. Please read the entire contents before enjoying the insult.

During an evacuation the main assembly point is the green lawn outside the Law Cafe
above the Law Library near the parabolic skylight.

A second assembly point is Victoria Park.

DO NOT STOP OR GATHER TO TALK ON EASTERN AVENUE OR BLOCK THE AREA BETWEEN THE
FOOTBRIDGE, CARSLAW, MADSEN & EASTERN AVENUE COMPLEX.

DO NOT STOP OR GATHER NEAR WHERE THE FIRE ENGINES ARRIVE.

DO NOT STOP OR GATHER BETWEEN THE FIRE ENGINES AND THE BUILDING.

The University of Sydney emergency procedures are located at the following web page

http://sydney.edu.au/whs/emergency/content.shtml

Maps of evacuation pathways and the official assembly places are located next to the
lifts and all stairwells/fire escapes.

Please look at one carefully sometime!

If you are teaching in the tutorial/lecture rooms on Level 3/4 or in the lecture
theatres on Level 1/2 please consider if it is faster to take your students down the
stairs closer to the Law building and directly to the assembly point outside the Law
Cafe. This may result in less burden on the main stairwell in the Carslaw building.
