3+3 Year Postdoctoral Position, Technische Universitaet Muenchen, Germany

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position, tenable up to three years in the first instance, to work in the representation theory group of Prof A Henke (Mathematics M11) in the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University in Munich, Germany. The start date is 1. January 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter. There is a possibility after the first term of three years to renew the position by a further three years.

You should have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in Mathematics and you should have research experience and expertise in representation theory (of finite groups, algebraic groups or algebras), preferably but not necessarily in an area close to the research group of Prof Henke. Beyond your own research, your will be expected to contribute in the research activities of the representation theory group, and the organisation of workshops and conferences. You also will contribute some teaching in the department of mathematics which can be provided in English.
