Tenure track position at Wayne State University

The Department of Mathematics at Wayne State University invites applications for a possible tenure-track position, pending authorization, commencing in Fall, 2010. Qualified candidates from any area of mathematics are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to applicants in the research areas of analysis and algebra. Applications should include a signed, detailed vita, description of current research interests, and four letters of recommendation, one of which should address teaching. Solid evidence of teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred to a statement of teaching philosophy. There is also a possibility of a visiting position for the 2010-2011 academic year. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field and a strong interest in research and teaching are required for all positions. Applications received by December 1, 2009 will be given priority. Upon final approval, the position will be posted at https://jobs.wayne.edu. Applicants must apply online through this website. For further information in the meantime, please consult the department's website, http://www.math.wayne.edu. Wayne State University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Women and members of underrepresented minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
