Gordon James Imperial College Rank polynomials Friday 5th November, 12:05-12:55pm, Carslaw 157 (note: new room). For each finite set of positive integers, we define a polynomial, which we call the rank polynomial for the set. We shall discuss properties of these polynomials, and reveal the problem in representation theory which motivates the study of them.
