Automorphism groups of nilpotent Lie groups

To each finite graph we associate a two step nilpotent Lie algebra, and in turn a connected Lie group, and describe the structure of the group of all its Lie automorphisms. The description enables construction of a large class of compact nilmanifolds with Anosov diffeomorphisms, or ergodic diffeomorphisms, and also of compact nilmanifolds which do not admit such automorphisms.
