An algebraic viewpoint on integrable systems

I shall describe how algebraic geometry enters into the study of integrable systems, and in particular how it can be used to study almost-complex tori in S6. This case involves a more interesting Lie group (G2) than previous examples, and I will explain how this is reflected in the algebraic geometry.

This is joint work with Erxiao Wang of UT Austin.
