Blocks of algebraic groups and cyclotomic Hecke algebras

    Friday 26th June, 12-1pm, Carslaw 273.

In this talk I hope to discuss some ideas presented by Michel Broue at a conference held a few weeks ago at the University of North Texas entitled "Blocks of finite reductive groups, Deligne-Lusztig varieties and complex reflection groups"; in particular ideas related to Morita and Rickard equivalences, blocks with abelian defect groups, Jordan decomposition of characters and cyclotomic Hecke algebras.
