Multidimensional stochastic Burgers equation

Wednesday 26th May 14:05-14:55pm, New Law School Seminar 030 (Building F10).

Stochastic Burgers equation is a well known tool to study the onset of shocks in gas dynamics. It also arises in the theory of random media including vortex lines in superconductors, charge density waves and directed polymers. While a scalar stochastic Burgers equation has been intensely studied for many years, almost nothing is known about its multidimensional version. In this talk I will present some new results about the viscous multidimensional stochastic Burgers equation and its vainishing viscosity limit.
