3-adic canonical lifting

My talk is about joint work with D.Kohel and D.Lubicz. Recently, we have proven equations defining a higher dimensional analogue of X_0(3). These equations can be used to compute canonical lifts over the 3-adic numbers. An application is given by explicit CM theory.
We encourage students to come to this talk. We will motivate our research by a discussion of Hilbert's 12th problem.
