Derived Days

From the 28–30 of January we will be hosting "derived days" at the University of Sydney.

We will have some introductory talks on derived categories (particularly of coherent sheaves) and applications. One aim is to prepare for the visit of Tom Bridgeland, who will be visiting SMRI from January through May 2020. Another aim is to understand an important piece of the mathematical world a tiny bit better!

The lectures will take place as follows:

Speakers are Asilata Bapat, Anand Deopurkar, Anthony Licata, Behrouz Taji and Geordie Williamson. We hope to make a schedule and list of abstracts available soon.

The event is deliberately informal. There will be no funding and no catering (there are many fantastic restaurants and coffee shops nearby). Having said that, we would love you to take part. There are also free slots if you would like to give an accessible talk related to derived categories of coherent sheaves. Please get in touch if this is the case. We hope to organise a BYO conference picnic (weather permitting) on Wednesday.
