Research Interests

I have research interests in Applied Mathematics generally, with particular focus on numerical and asymptotic solution methods for problems with nonlinearity and/or stochastic influences. These problems are often challenging to solve while having practical significance. The main areas currently are:

Geophysical fluid dynamics, especially vortex dynamics (with Prof. David G. Dritschel and Dr. Georg Gottwald ) and internal waves.

Acoustics in complex and random media, with applications in biomedical ultrasound (with Dr Rose Thompson and Dr Whayne Padden).

Mathematical theory of combustion (with Prof. Brian Gray ).
