Research

I am interested in different aspects of representation theory, especially its connections to algebraic combinatorics, low dimensional topology and algebraic geometry.

The main aspect of my research is categorification and its application to the representation theory of algebraic groups and Lie algebras, as well as Lie superalgebras. A central building block in all of this are on the one hand KLR algebras and their variations and on the other hand centraliser algebras like the Brauer algebras and its relatives.

Through the interplay of Lie theory and categorification methods, many of the subjects thus have natural connections to either questions in algebraic geometry or low dimensional topology, in the form of link invariants.
