Overview This course is an introduction to methods for
solving ordinary and partial differential equations, including use of Laplace
Transforms and Fourier Series. The course is oriented towards second order
differential equations and context applications. It is mostly analytical but
with some computational work, for which the computer algebra program
Mathematica will be used.

from the University Copy Centre
(not KopyStop), Darlington, near the Coop Bookshop, for less than $10,
from Monday, February 18. These notes can
not be ordered over the web, but can be purchased from the CopyCentre's online
queue. (Refer to Shelf C3 if necessary.) They should be obtained as soon
as possible, and brought to all lectures and tutorials. Notes with a release
date prior to February 2013 are superseded.
Each tutorial involves some use of the computer algebra program
Mathematica; so all tutorials are held in the Carslaw Computing
Laboratories as scheduled in the timetable.
