A course outline 

The aim of this mini-course is to give an introduction to the classical theory of
mathematical quasi-crystals developed by Meyer and others.  In total, there will be 6
meetings (one meeting is 50 minutes).  While the first two lectures will be devoted to
problems pertaining to Diophantine approximation, the remaining lectures will be more
focused on the "dynamics" of quasi-crystals.  

Lecture I: Quasi-crystals and Pisot numbers

Lecture III: An introduction to mathematical diffraction 

Lecture IV: The torus parameterization and diffraction for models

Lecture V: Strungaru’s Theorem on diffraction of quasi-crystals
