Categorification in Representation Theory: Wilson -- Khovanov’s categorification of the Weyl algebra

The CRT working group will meet again this Friday at 3.30pm in Carslaw 159, as usual.
Abstract appears below, hope to see you there!

Khovanov’s categorification of the Weyl algebra ----- The Weyl algebra is the ring of
univariate differential operators with polynomial coefficients. In 2001, Khovanov
published a categorification of the defining representation of the Weyl algebra on the
polynomial ring, using the so-called nilCoxeter algebras. In this talk, we’ll review
the categorification, hopefully covering the Leibnitz rule and integration as
anti-differentiation.
