Computational Algebra Seminar: Kasprzyk -- The canonical line hypothesis for smooth Fano polytopes

Speaker: Alexander M Kasprzyk
Title: The canonical line hypothesis for smooth Fano polytopes
Time & Place: 3-4pm, Thursday 20 May, Carslaw 535

Abstract:
Golyshev conjectured that for any smooth Fano polytope P with dim P <= 5,
the roots of the Ehrhart polynomial have real part equal to -1/2 (the
"canonical line hypothesis"). I shall sketch a proof of this conjecture.
This is joint work with Gabor Hegedus.
