Algebra Seminar

The Littlewood-Richardson rule and the hive model

Kim

Friday 9th November, 12:05--12:55pm, Carslaw 175

Speaker:

Sangjib Kim (University of Queensland)

Title:

The Littlewood-Richardson rule and the hive model.

Abstract:

The Littlewood-Richardson rule provides a combinatorial description of the multiplicities in the decomposition of tensor products of irreducible representations of \(\mathrm{GL}(n,\mathbb{C})\). We will discuss the hive model of the Littlewood-Richardson rule and its relation to other combinatorial results in representation theory.
