Postgraduate Seminar: Rowland Si Chao Jiang -- Exceptional p-groups of order p^5

The minimal degree of a group G is the least positive integer n such that G embeds
inside Sym(n). A group is said to be exceptional is there exists a normal subgroup N
such that the minimal degree of G/N is strictly greater than the minimal degree of G.
This talk will be about the smallest exceptional p-groups.
