Title: On the Monodromy of Hyperplane Arrangements 

Abstract: we will discuss the main open question in 
this area, namely whether the combinatorics of the 
intersection lattice determines the monodromy operator 
of the Milnor fiber of a central, complex hyperplane 
arrangement. Some results will be stated in a way 
showing that both answers seem at this stage equally 
possible.

One choice of commuting from Sydney: meet at Carslaw 
620 around 12NOON and we share taxi to UNSW. The round
