This puzzle showed evolutions whose gap is bridged by a word. The numbers gave the maximal lengths of these subwords, which indicated: INCHES, DITS, LOWS, ECRU, WADDLES, HEAR, ERGO, EASE, LULU.
Taking first letters gives the phrase IDLE WHEEL, a mechanical component that also "bridges the gap" between other moving parts.
This puzzle had a noticeably lower solve rate than the others. We suspect the use of uncommon subwords and arrows instead of perhaps plus signs (or no symbols at all) may have contributed to this puzzle's difficulty. There are many nicer words that sit between evolutions that do not begin with the required letters, unfortunately.
|The answer is: idlewheel|
