    K-Theory and Cohomology Theories.

Thursday 8th July, 12-1pm, Carslaw 375. (Note unusual time!)

We offer a brief introduction to the evolution of algebraic and topological K-theory, and we discuss various relationships between these K-theories and cohomology theories. Mention will be made of a recent theorem of myself and Andrei Suslin. We shall also discuss work in progress with Mark Walker which entails a theory intermediate between algebraic and topological K-theory, a theory which relates to earlier joint work of myself and Blaine Lawson.
