    Topological Holography

    Wednesday, April 11th, 2-3pm, Carslaw 275.

An important part of modern theoretical physics is the study of "M-theory" or string theory. In its current form this is a theory of higher dimensional surfaces called branes.

Mathematical applications of branes to topology will be reviewed, and in particular the possibility of holographical relations between topological invariants in low dimensions will be discussed.
