    Complexity Management: A Structural Approach

    Wednesday, May 8th, 2-3pm, Carslaw 173.

Analysis of many complex problems in different areas of application shows that there seems to be a correlation between high complexity of the problem and the existence of large grids in the structures underlying the problem. This criterion is specified and analysed in different areas of application. This seminar also presents a survey on related results and problems in the areas of algorithms, decidability of theories, applications in business, hardware design, software development and dynamical systems. The talk is based on results obtained in cooperation with F. Schlottmann (Institute AIFB, University Karlsruhe (TH), Germany).
