Infinitesimal one-parameter subgroups and exponentiation

Let \(G\) be a semisimple algebraic group over a field of characteristic \(p\). In this talk, we will describe the varieties of infinitesimal one-parameter subgroups of \(G\), and discuss their importance in representation theory. We will also consider a related question which deals with the existence of certain Springer isomorphisms between the nilpotent variety of \(\mathrm{Lie}(G)\) and the unipotent variety of \(G\).
