Fixed points for group actions on 2-dimensional affine buildings

Abstract

We prove a local-to-global result for fixed points of groups acting on 2-dimensional affine buildings. Our proofs combine specific building-theoretic arguments with very general CAT(0) space techniques. This is joint work with Jeroen Schillewaert and Koen Struyve.
