The Space of Lagrangian Planes: A Gentle Introduction

Robert Marangell (Sydney)

Abstract

This talk will focus on the geometry of the space of Lagrangian planes \(\Lambda(n)\). Colloquially, this is the set of real \(n\) dimensional planes in complex \(n\) space. I will attempt to describe the space in a number of different, equivalent ways. The main focus will be on understanding the geometry of \(\Lambda(2)\), but I will occasionally extrapolate to more general dimensions when it is possible.
